A lot of the joy of landscape photography comes from the adventure of getting ‘the shot’. I travelled to Morant’s Curve on an early January morning with the desire to capture this composition. I did not know if the train would come or what the conditions would be leading up to the moment. On my way to the curve, the sunrise sky was bursting with colour— I knew it was going to be an enjoyable experience whether I came home with the prize or not. When the train finally came, I was overwhelmed with excitement! There was a light patch exactly where I needed the train to pass for my perfect composition. See how it all unfolded here:
